SP1848-27145 Thermoelectric Power Generator
Principle of Heat Generation:
- Thermal Flow: Thermal energy flows into the Peltier module from the high-temperature side.
- Heat to Electricity Conversion: As the thermal energy passes through the module, a part of it is converted into electrical energy due to the Seebeck effect, generating DC voltage and current.
- Voltage Output: You can increase the output voltage by connecting multiple TEG modules in series.

Usage Instructions:
-
Module Orientation:
-
Cold End (Heat Dissipating Surface): The side with text ("with word") should be placed against a cooler surface or heat sink.
-
Hot End (Heat Absorbing Surface): The opposite side (non-text side) should be placed against a hotter surface.
-
-
Electrical Connections:
-
The red wire should be connected to the positive terminal.
-
The black wire should be connected to the negative terminal.
-
Power is generated when there is a temperature difference between the two sides.
-
High Reliability:
-
The SP1848-27145 TEG module has no moving parts, making it light, easy to handle, and highly reliable with a long lifespan.
Important Notes:
-
When using TEG modules designed for power generation, ensure there is a proper heat sink on the cold side.
-
When using a Peltier cooling chip like TEC1-12704, it should not be powered for a long time without a heat sink. Overheating can cause damage to the module, potentially leading to failure or burning of the internal components.
Key Points to Remember:
-
Maintain Proper Heat Flow: Ensure that there is a significant temperature difference between the hot and cold sides to maximize power generation.
-
Heat Dissipation: Always provide adequate cooling on the cold side to prevent thermal overload, especially for cooling modules like TEC1-12704.
-
Avoid Overheating: Be cautious not to overheat the module beyond its rated maximum temperature.
The SP1848-27145 is designed for power generation using the Seebeck effect. It converts heat differentials into electrical energy, making it suitable for applications where heat energy needs to be harvested and transformed into usable power.
The SP1848-27145 has a maximum operating temperature of 150°C. Operating the module beyond this temperature may damage it.
The module provides an open-circuit voltage of up to 4.8V. However, the actual voltage output depends on the temperature difference across the module.
Yes, you can connect multiple SP1848-27145 modules in series or parallel to increase the voltage or current output, respectively.
Is the SP1848-27145 waterproof or weatherproof?
